Introduction

Current situation

Recent studies show that in Spain there is still a lot to be done in terms of the distribution of information and awareness concerning fair trade among citizens. By doing so, this can help change the imbalance between North and South:

As the fair trade concept is getting accepted and understood, it is limited to few food items (coffee, sugar, etc.) and small purchase of those products.

Amongst those consumers only few knows about the wide range of products that can be Fair Trade. They normally have the wrong idea about them, especially regarding price and design, or they do not measure fair trade products posibilities.

On the world market, there is a tiny relationship between fair trade, ecology and sustainable materials. One of the most important requirements we ask and try to improve with craftsmen is the sustainability of their production.

Few craftsmen have either the knowledge or the resources to meet the “Eco & Fair” requirements, like the use of cotton or other ecological products in their clothes manufacture.

For that reason, the increasing demand of the ecological criteria in fair trade products, strongly weaken the craftsmen nowadays.

Short & medium-term

Since 2007 we work for a wider and more postive image of fair trade in order to turn its products into a real consumption alternative.

In the medium term, we plan to develop chains of production of sustainable and ecological products in order for the craftsmen to be able to fulfill markets needs.

We develop our projects with a positive, realistic, social and professional approach to improve Fair Trade.
